Build Your Own Beta Better!
This SC2 model SmartCarb replaces the stock 36mm Keihin PWK in Beta 300 RR, 300 RR Race Edition, and new 300 RR X-Pro dirt bikes, offering crisp, clean performance, excellent fuel efficiency, and incredible ease of use.
Choose the 36mm size if you spend more time at low revs riding trail, woods, singletrack, enduro, or tight/technical conditions where the bottom end or low speed is a priority. Choose the 38mm size if you spend most of your time in the upper throttle range, riding motocross, GNCC, supermoto, desert, or if you are snowbiking.
Betas using the factory oil injection system REQUIRE the MagVolt® Throttle Position Sensor. Betas with the oil injection system removed and 2020 and later Race Edition Betas with factory TPS do not require MagVolt® TPS. See Fitment Information tab below for more information.
Every SmartCarb ships pre-adjusted specifically for the bike for which it is ordered. Please provide information in the forms below about any engine/exhaust modifications, how you ride (riding style), and what fuel selection and oil premix ratio (if applicable) you use.

This carb has changed my way of riding. I live at 900’ but travel to ride mostly. We usually ride between 3500 and 10000’. No fiddling around with jets. Install this thing, dial in your air fuel mix which is super easy and forget it. Customer service is really good if you have any questions. I ride a 2021 Beta 300 race edition. I can’t say enough good things about this carb and the folks that make it and support their customers.

The SmartCarb preforms perfectly for me from sea level to 11,600 from my experience. I haven’t ran it completely out of fuel yet, but when I tried I was over 90 miles into my stock tank and running on reserve.

2024 300 Race Edition
We are a Lectron dealer but after talking to some buddies heavy in the industry the SmartCarb seemed to be the right choice. Talked with Nathan at SmartCarb and he got me all set up. Install went easy with perfect fitment. Jumped up from the stock 36mm Keihin to the 38mm SC2.
The idle was too high off the bat but I rode like that for half an hour. Went 5 clicks richer and about 3/4 turn on the idle screw. Went riding desert with some elevation change and the bike feels night and day different. The low end is still there but mid to high pulls way stronger and smoother. Throttle response is more crisp all through the range. Wanted to do a fuel economy run by my water pump seal blew towards the end and I had to limp it home. So far I’m extremely happy with the SmartCarb. Excited to put more time on it!

It’s even better on the ’24 300 Race Edition!
I knew I would go back to a SC2 36mm SmartCarb after getting my new bike. I ran one on my 2017 300RR and it did great through a couple race seasons. The 2024 had a few woes with the Keihin as it fouled 3 sets of plugs in 17hrs. The dealer went through the bike only to find pooled fuel in the engine from a rich condition, but wasn’t able to reproduce it. They released the bike back to me so I picked it up the day before the Battle of the Goats Extreme Enduro qualifier.
I arrived at Brushy Mountain Motor Sports Park, swapped the new SC2 in and rode it around for 20 min. The bike ran flawlessly all weekend. Qualified 4th, and took 1st in class for the Main event on Sunday. I slowly leaned the clicker out and landed on 78 from the base 65. It was so easy to tune mid-race! LOL.. Smooth is an understatement, and the torque is unreal. The control and predictable nature is so good for hard enduro.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the setup.

I received my 36mm SC2 yesterday, installed it right away into my 2020 Beta 300RE, and rode today and oh my goodness, it’s not even the same bike! I have owned many 2-strokes and while all of them ran ok with proper jetting, etc (other then my beloved Beta), none have ever been perfect everywhere through the throttle range. Always some weird flat spot or what have you. The Beta with the SmartCarb on it was magic, seriously it was amazing.
The chain slap on my (very well maintained) Beta was so bad I thought it was just something I had to live with. I didn’t realize it was a fueling issue and I don’t think most riders totally understand this fact. The rattle is gone and I rode some wet muddy rocky trails this afternoon and felt like I had more traction then ever. It never died, flooded, bogged and unlike the stock carb, it doesn’t spill fuel.
I’ll be your best salesman in NW Montana, you can bet on that!

I installed the 36mm SC2 on my 2020 Beta 300RR standard edition (I use premix) and I am very impressed. I ride mostly at 1500 feet above sea level and I did not have any trouble with the stock carb but wanted the improved mileage and no spilling of gas on steep terrain or when I drop the bike. The SC2 does not spill gas no matter what angle it’s at which contributes to the fuel savings. On my first ride my mileage improved from about 30mpg with the stock carb to 39mpg with the SC2 just doing a rough calculation. I was not expecting a big performance increase, however, I was surprised at how much harder the bike pulls from down low. The Beta 300RR already has a lot of grunt in stock form, but with the SC2 I found myself riding a gear taller in many situations with less clutch work. I recently ordered a Rekluse clutch for this bike but after installing the SC2 I cancelled the order as I don’t need it. Another fringe benefit is that I hear less chain slap (that rattling sound) when lugging the engine because it’s smoother and stronger down low. The customer service has been great. The installation was a little tedious as there is little space to work with but otherwise straightforward.
