The SC3 SmartCarb replaces the stock GasGas TXT carburetor in 250, 280, and 300cc trials bikes.
The SmartCarb SC3 is precision air/fuel metering instrument that provides extremely fine fuel atomization, precise mixture control, and automatic air density compensation in a single circuit, externally adjustable, jet-less fuel system.

2021 Gas gas TXT280 running on vp110 non-oxygenated. E-f31 metering rod at 49 clicks and idle @.769 it starts easily with no throttle needed. Revs smooth and strong with a nice top end rev. Tried the richer E-f30 needle and the top end screams. Might be good for a lighter rider. My weight is 210lbs, might be something to consider when setting up.

For the last several years I have worked closely with the developer of the SmartCarb, Corey Dyess, to bring SmartCarb technology to GasGas Trials Bikes and I can now say that we have nailed it! I have the first production 28mm Billet SmartCarb on my 300cc Factory Replica TXT Pro and it performs absolutely perfect. I’ve ridden from 980 ft (here in Kansas City) up to elevations as high as 11,600 ft in Colorado with no adjustments necessary other than an idle screw tweak here and there to my liking. What a relief to never have to change jetting anymore for the altitude you’re riding at! The carb is very easy to set and can be adjusted without any tools or hassle by using the mixture clicker adjuster on top of the carb and once it’s dialed in, you forget it. The SmartCarb adds noticeable power from idle all the way up to the rev limit of the engine while giving very fine throttle control. You will experience a smooth and controllable power increase throughout the RPM range and I’ve seen my fuel economy increase too, which is also a big bonus! The SmartCarb improves every operational aspect of my bike and at this point, I’d be hard pressed to ride without it.
