Cody Webb Wins 6th King of the Motos on Fuel Strategy

Team SmartCarb is thrilled to have fueled Sherco FactoryONE racer Cody Webb to his 6th victory at King of the Motos! Cody's win on Sunday broke Trystan Hart's (KTM) two-year winning streak of US-based premiere hard enduros and demonstrated the SmartCarb's competitive advantages decisively.
Both days' racing saw Webb take the holeshot and maintain close leads over Hart & Ryder LeBlond (Husqvarna).
Race 1 - Saturday
Saturday's race ran a combined 26 miles and after cruising to a cool P1, Cody and the Sherco crew took special notice of the fuel level left in the tank. Webb ended the day with 1.25 inches more fuel left over compared to fellow FactoryONE teammate Cooper Abbott running the stock Keihin carburetor.
Race 2 - Sunday
Sunday's race format was 3 laps of gnarly canyons, flat-out open sections, and dunes; 14, 17, and 10 miles respectively. The three top competitors all fueled up after lap 1 with Cody filling his tank to the brim.
They would end lap 2 only seconds apart, but, having complete confidence in the SmartCarb's increased fuel efficiency, Cody shocked the pits and thrilled the crowd by skipping the final fuel stop to buy an extra minute+ over Trystan & Ryder who both stopped to top off their fuel injected 300s.
Webb used the strategy to brilliant effect, pulling out of sight but certainly not out of the minds of Hart and LeBlond, ultimately taking the win by 48 seconds and with enough fuel remaining in the tank to go an estimated 5-6 miles further at race pace.
